# Using MailConnect

> How to use MailConnect in Outlook: open it, archive emails and attachments to SharePoint, add metadata, attach SharePoint files, and fix common problems.

MailConnect works inside Outlook. From the email you're reading, you file it to
SharePoint. From the email you're writing, you attach files from SharePoint.

Your organisation decides which tabs you have and which features are on, so some
of what's described here may not be in your MailConnect. If something you need is
missing, ask your IT department.
