Using MailConnect
MailConnect works inside Outlook. From the email you’re reading, you file it to SharePoint. From the email you’re writing, you attach files from SharePoint.
Your organisation decides which tabs you have and which features are on, so some of what’s described here may not be in your MailConnect. If something you need is missing, ask your IT department.
Opening MailConnectWhere to find MailConnect in Outlook, how to keep its pane open, what it does when you read or write mail, and which versions of Outlook support what.
ArchivingArchive an email and its attachments to SharePoint from Outlook: choose a location, pick what to save, archive several at once, and see what's already archived.
Drag and dropArchive by dragging emails, attachments or files onto a folder in MailConnect, and review them first when your organisation uses the drop review.
MetadataGive the files you archive a SharePoint content type and fill in its columns with Add metadata, copy values between attachments, and see which fill themselves.
Attaching filesAttach SharePoint files to the email you're writing: find them by browsing or searching, select them, choose PDF where you want it, and attach them.
BrowsingFind your way around SharePoint in MailConnect: its tabs, Followed Sites, search, file previews, and creating, renaming and deleting folders and files.
Your settingsYour own MailConnect preferences in Outlook: language, date format, default tabs, previews and suggestions, and the Reset suggestions and Clear Cache actions.
TroubleshootingFix common MailConnect problems in Outlook: sign-in prompts, features turned off, trial screens, errors and Retry, a pane that closes, and Clear Cache.
